Senior Lecturer in project management. Edward’s research is focussed on construction project management. He has presented at national and international conferences, such as Association of Researchers in Construction Management (ARCOM), Australian Universities Building Educators Association (AUBEA), CIB World Congress, American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and International World of Construction Project Management where he has shared his knowledge on ‘Project Complexity, Project Performance and Project Team Integration’. Edward has published one book and over 40 refereed papers. He has extensive research experience relating to people and organisational challenges and solution development for managing large capital and heavy engineering projects. He has 2 PhD completion, and is currently supervising 4 PhD students on project related topics (Risk Management, Agile, Knowledge Management and Sustainability).
Andrew Price, Professor of Project Management, with over 30 years design, construction and industry-focused research experience. Prior to joining Loughborough University as Research Assistant in 1981, he worked Structural Engineer on a wide range of building projects. Currently a Co-Academic Director, for Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre (HaCIRIC). Andrew’s research focuses on measuring and improving the socio-economic aspects of built environment performance, including construction value, sustainability, performance improvement, total quality management (TQM) and benchmarking. His early research focussed on construction productivity and the motivation and development of human resources. At present, he is researching innovative planning and design solutions for health and care infrastructure, continuous improvement and the project management of large construction projects. Andrew has authored 5 books and published over 400 in refereed journals and conferences papers. He has supervised 49 completed PhD/EngD students from 28 countries, and has been Principal or Co-investigator on over 30 completed funded projects.
Dr Ximing Ruan is a Senior Lecturer in Project Management at the University of the West of England. After working in IT and construction industry for 10 years, he pursued degrees at Northumbria University in the UK, including an MBA from the Business School and a PhD in Project Management from the Built Environment School. His publications have been focusing on knowledge management and integration in projects, organisational coordination in project process, and the application of social network analysis in project context.
